A pioneer of the European surfing industry, Derek O’Neill launched and ran Billabong in Europe for 12 years before becoming its international CEO. At 54, he could have spent the rest of his life surfing, but retirement is not for him. He has been back in Hossegor for three years, developing Vissla, a new brand “to make surfing great again”. And the least we can say is that it’s looking rather promising.
