Bob Hurley, a visionary surfboard shaper, launched the Hurley brand in 1999, drawing inspiration from his passion for the sea as well as the spirit and creativity of young people.
Before Hurley, Bob made a name for himself in Huntington Beach as one of the most talented shapers of his generation, before gaining international recognition as the favourite shaper of Rabbit Bartholomew, the 1978 world surfing champion.
Determined to create ever lighter, faster and more flexible boards, Bob eventually applied this innovative philosophy to boardshorts and wetsuits.
You know the rest. These days, Bob tests products at his home in Newport Beach, in Hawaii, or on the world’s finest waves.
Today, Hurley has joined forces with Nike. This partnership benefits everyone: Nike’s commitment to helping athletes reach their full potential also benefits the world’s best surfers. Similarly, the most renowned surfers, such as John John Florence and Carissa Moore, share unique insights which may one day be used to develop the products worn by Nike athletes both in and out of the water.
