Following the resounding success of the Happy Everyday — which notably secured second place at the Stab in the Dark with Taj Burrow — Britt Merrick and his team have taken on a new challenge. The result is the Al Merrick Better Everyday surfboard, an even more refined and optimised version of this best-seller.
The evolution of a performance step-down board
The Happy Everyday was already recognised as an excellent performance step-down board. With the Al Merrick Better Everyday, shaper Britt Merrick has retained the fundamental qualities of this model whilst making key improvements to enhance the feel on the wave.
Key changes to the shape
To fine-tune the board’s behaviour, several precise adjustments have been incorporated into the design:
- A smoother hip: the distinctive hip of the previous model has been smoothed out to offer smoother transitions.
- A swallow tail: the inclusion of a swallow tail brings a new dynamic to the ride.
- A raised tail rocker: the rocker at the rear has been increased to improve responsiveness.
- A refined shape for the quad: the overall contour has been adjusted to ensure ideal glide in a 4-fin configuration.
5-fin setup and dimensions
Thanks to its perfectly balanced 5-fin setup, the board offers total versatility: it can be ridden as a quad or a thruster, depending on your preference.
This model is available in the following dimensions and volumes:
- 5'7 x 19" x 2"5/16 — 26.3 L
