The Takayama Scorpion 2 Xtrasoft combines the legendary, high-performance shape of shaper Donald Takayama with the comfort of a top-of-the-range softboard. Compared to the original Scorpion, this ‘2’ version features a wider tail and a slightly tapered nose, allowing you to ride a shorter board whilst retaining lightning-fast paddling speed. Thanks to its Softop Xtrasoft hybrid construction, it offers the responsiveness and glide of a laminated hardboard with the safety of a soft deck.

• Softop Xtrasoft Technology (Surftech): The best of both worlds. The board’s core is stiff and dynamic like a traditional surfboard, but the deck is covered in soft, comfortable EVA foam (no wax required) to absorb shocks.
