The Foil Drive 3-Blade Propeller Hub Set is the official central hub designed to assemble and secure the three-blade propeller configuration onto the motor shaft of your electric assist system. Made from ultra-robust, glass-fibre-reinforced engineering plastic, it withstands the most extreme torsional forces during rapid acceleration. This kit includes the two-part hub (inner and outer hub) as well as all the internal fasteners required to align and clamp the three interchangeable blades. Ideal for switching from a two-bladed propeller to a three-bladed version to achieve smoother thrust, reduced vibration and better responsiveness at low revs. Available at Waïmea Surf Shop in Anglet and on waimea.fr.

Are you looking for a bit more torque to get out of the water more easily? Designed to increase thrust at low RPM, the three-bladed propeller hub is an optional upgrade for Foil Drive Assist PLUS units, offering a game-changer for riders pushing the limits of rider weight, board size and foil size. Compared to the standard two-bladed propeller system, the NEW three-bladed propeller system improves performance through the following features: Increased thrust at low RPM. The extra blade allows more water to be displaced, providing greater torque at low RPMs and preventing propeller cavitation under heavy load. More efficient surface riding when the propellers break the surface. Smoother and quieter running thanks to a lower rotational speed. It is specially designed for riders who need more torque at low RPMs, whether due to using a low-volume board, a smaller or larger-than-normal foil, or a heavier rider. We do not recommend using the three-bladed propeller hub for extended foiling at full throttle, as this will drain your battery much more quickly and could trigger the electronics’ thermal overload protection. Three-bladed propellers consume more watts/power than two-bladed propellers, which can ‘run down’ at full throttle whilst foiling. DO NOT use a three-bladed propeller at more than 90 per cent of continuous speed whilst foiling. You should allow the ESC in the box to cool in water from time to time. Standard 3x M3 30mm 2.5mm propeller bolts can be used; these are the same as the propeller bolts used on the 2-blade hub. It is also possible to use three M3 30mm 2mm button-top propeller bolts to improve hydrodynamics, although a secondary tool is required. As they are not in the water flow, they do not cause small bubbles to form which then enter the propeller. The small Button Top bolts require a 2 mm Allen key and cannot be used with the 2.5 mm screwdriver supplied as standard with all Foil Drive kits.
